December 2020
When working for a client like Airbnb, it is obvious that you will have to follow their nicely done design system.

Olympians receive an email saying that they have Airbnb credits to redeem. The flow will be different if they are logged in or if they need to create an account.
Different states for the starting screen of the credits acceptance flow.
Once you are logged in, you can accept your Airbnb credits with a small confetti moment 🥳

Robin was a phenomenal designer for our team. He designed one of our highest priority projects of the year, creating a seamless and intuitive experience for our Olympics and Paralympics partnership. Perhaps most impressive was his ability to quickly learn a new design language system at Airbnb, as well as align his designs to both the user and business goals. He required minimal guidance, chartered a lot of territory himself, and was a joy to work with while at it. I highly recommend Robin for anyone looking for a strategic design leader who can guide teams to produce truly magical experiences for users.
This out-of-brief concept shows that the brief is just a starting point for designers. The goal of those interviews is to drive fans to Airbnb and have them book experiences offered below the interview.
Interview prompt
To make the interview creation process easier, I’ve created an interview form where athletes can fill out their info, answer some questions and add their assets. Voila!

We would create a hero customized by the country of the athlete to double down on the pride of representing your country.
Examples of Headers from different countries
Thanks to the content the athletes filled in, we’d generate a custom article for them to share in their social medias.
Example of an article
Once the article has been proofread by the Airbnb team, we will send athletes an email including a media with a quote from the article so they have something to share along with their posts.

A brief is here to make sure the things that needs to be done get done. But, as a designer, we have the power to go above and beyond and propose some solutions that we think could solve a problem.
When presenting to a large team, it is super important to make sure your points get across smoothly. Being concise, impactful (and fun) is key.
As external contractors, it is easy to overpromise and then have a hard time delivering on those promises. My aim is to set achieving goals and deadlines... but then push to go above and beyond.
Hit me up at noguier.robin@gmail.com and we might end up renting an Airbnb somewhere to do some design sprints!
